1. The Service
Donezo is a family chore tracking iOS app that requires two iPhones — one for the parent or guardian and one for each child. Parents set up chores, assign monetary values, and invite children via a private link. Children photograph completed chores on their device. AI verifies the photographic evidence and provides a score and feedback. Parents track earnings and mark payments. The subscription is purchased on the parent device.
2. Who Can Use Donezo
Donezo is designed to be used by families. The parent or guardian who sets up the app and purchases the subscription must be at least 18 years of age. Children may use the child device under direct parental supervision. By setting up Donezo and connecting a child device, the parent or guardian confirms they have the authority to consent to the collection and processing of data on behalf of their child as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Children's Privacy
Donezo takes children's privacy seriously. Children using the child device are identified by a randomly generated device identifier only. No email address, password, or other personally identifying information is collected from children. The parent or guardian sets up the child's display name and controls all connection data.
Chore photos taken by children are sent to Google Gemini AI for verification and are immediately discarded after the result is returned. They are never stored on any server. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details of how children's data is handled in compliance with COPPA and POPIA.
4. Subscription and Billing
Donezo requires an active subscription to access all features. A 7-day free trial is available for new subscribers on both plans. The subscription is purchased on the parent device.
- Monthly plan: $2.99 USD per month — includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers
- Annual plan: $29.99 USD per year — includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers (saving approximately 16%)
Payment is charged to the parent's Apple ID at the end of the 7-day free trial period. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. To manage or cancel your subscription go to: iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Donezo.
5. AI Verification — Important Disclaimer
Chore verification scores (0–100) and Verified / Partial / Not Done results are generated by artificial intelligence (Google Gemini). These scores are advisory only. The parent or guardian has full and final discretion over whether a chore is considered complete and whether earnings are paid out.
AI verification may not always be accurate. Factors such as photo quality, lighting, and the nature of the chore can affect results. Protea Studios (Pty) Ltd accepts no liability for:
- Inaccurate chore verification scores or outcomes
- Any disputes between family members arising from AI-generated verification results
- Any financial arrangements between parents and children made using the app
Donezo is a tool to assist families — it does not replace parental judgement.
6. Parental Responsibility
The parent or guardian is solely responsible for:
- All use of Donezo by their children
- Ensuring the app is used appropriately and safely
- Monitoring their child's use of the child device
- All financial arrangements and payments made to children using the app
- Ensuring children understand that AI verification scores are a guide and the parent has final say
7. Disconnecting the Family Connection
The parent can disconnect the family connection at any time from within the app. Disconnecting permanently removes all associated family data, chore records, completion records, and earnings history from our database. This action cannot be undone.
8. Push Notifications
Donezo sends push notifications to the child device when the parent marks earnings as paid. By using the app and granting notification permission on the child device, you consent to receiving these notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in iPhone Settings.
9. Privacy
Your use of Donezo is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the app you also agree to our Privacy Policy.
10. Acceptable Use
You may use Donezo for personal, family use only. You may not:
- Use the app for any commercial purpose
- Use the app in any way that could harm, exploit, or expose children to inappropriate content or risk
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to copy any part of the app
- Attempt to circumvent subscription requirements
- Use automated tools to interact with the app
11. Intellectual Property
The Donezo app, its name, design, and branding are owned by Protea Studios (Pty) Ltd. AI-generated chore verification results are generated fresh for each verification and are not proprietary content owned by Protea Studios (Pty) Ltd or by the user.
12. Availability and Changes
We aim to keep Donezo available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes where possible.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Protea Studios (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from:
- Your use of or inability to use Donezo
- AI-generated chore verification outcomes
- Family disputes arising from use of the app
- Any financial arrangements made between parents and children through the app
- Any interruption or discontinuation of the service
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Protea Studios (Pty) Ltd from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the app.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Donezo shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
